After diagnosing the appliance, our technician will communicate their findings and explain the repair needed to fix the issue. If the customer approves, they will proceed with performing the repair. While many common parts are carried on the technician’s vehicle, it’s sometimes necessary to order a part. If this is the case, a return trip will need to be scheduled once the part has arrived.

Yes, there is a service call fee, which covers the cost of sending a technician to your home to diagnose the issue and provide a repair quote. If you decide to proceed with the repair, the service call fee will be applied towards the total cost of the repair. In situations where a customer isn’t ready to move forward with a repair, the service call fee is paid and the quote is good for 90 days. If the customer chooses to have the repair performed and contacts us within the 90-day timeframe, the service call fee will still be applied to the repair.

Before investing in a repair, it’s critical to determine if the drum bearings are still in good condition, as failing bearings often mean a machine is nearing the end of its life. We recommend using a specialized diagnostic technique developed by Samurai Appliance Repair Man, which you can see in the video above.

This “secret kata” allows you to quickly check for bearing wear at the start of the process. By ruling out major structural failure first, you can avoid the frustration of replacing smaller parts, like a drain pump, only to discover later that the machine has a terminal bearing issue.
